1. Support motorcycle and secure it.
2. Disconnect battery |
3. Remove primary cover |

| 4. Remove existing sprocket or compensator & 1/8" spacer. Refer to Harley manual from removal. |
|
| 5. Place teflon spacer, with the larger ID, on compensator lead flange and apply grease to threads. |
|
| 6. Apply grease to threads on compensator sprocket. |
|
| 7. Screw compensator lead flange into compensator sprocket on counterbored side of sprocket. |
|
| 8. Apply grease to flat side of compensator sprocket. |
|
| 9. Install sprocket and chain onto engine shaft. |
|
| 10. Apply grease to 2nd teflon spacer and place it on sprocket assembly. |
|
|
|
| 11. Place compensator nut flange on assembly and install engine nut. Torque nut to Harley specifications. |
|
|
|
|
On Softail models 1986-1999 remove the stock .200" spacer and use the .125 spacer supplied in kit, behind compensator for correct spacing.
